Grant writing:
I have more than 10 years of successful experience as a grant writer. I perform extensive research before writing a grant or making an "ask" to ensure a high probability that the request will be successful. This is the secret to my high success rate for my grant proposals--roughly two out of three are funded.
As a staff development officer for Wild Swan Theater, I was responsible for bringing in about $100 K per year--or about one-fourth their operating budget at the time. For Wild Swan and other clients I have secured a total of more than $1 M in grants over my career from the following foundations (partial list). In many cases I generated the idea for a project; spearheaded project design; and coordinated community collaborations with other nonprofits once we landed a grant, overseeing the process all the way through grant management and reporting.
