Therapeutic Writing
Using the Power of Storytelling To Practice Mindfulness, Heal, and Recover Our Dreams
Therapeutic writing can help people maintain their mental, physical, and emotional health; heal from trauma; and recover and reach towards our dreams.
More than 200 scientific studies have proven that therapeutic writing has measureable positive effects on health.
I have designed and led dozens of therapeutic writing workshops since 2016. I have received four grants from the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor to support workshops for at-risk people such as veterans and people with unstable housing. I also lead groups for the general public, and I'm available to teach one-on-one as well.
This link leads to a summer 2019 article that describes the background of therapeutic writing and my own approach to teaching it.
